My name is Leire Ruiz.
I'm an Aquarius girl of 31, my passport says that I'm Spanish but in reality my heart belongs to Basque Country. I've been living in Cork now for the last 5 years. I recently completed a Fetac level 5 certificate in Signwriting and an Interior Design course.
Every Saturday I take part in the craft market in the old Unitarian Church in Prince's Street, Cork.
I got exhibitions at Cork Coffee Roasters Cafe (April and December 2008), at the Sextant Bar(April 2009), at Galley 44 (November 2009) and currently at Kismet shop in Kinsale.

I called my site Recycling Art because I like using recycled materials, for the handcrafts, I use glass, cans, paper, cartons or whatever comes to hand. For the paintings, I like mixing colours and creating textures and collages. I love playing with the paints and adding bits and pieces of other stuff.
I learn and get inspiration from different artists. I like the abstract expressionism of Pollock and Rothko, the decorative technique of Klimt, the use of colour and composition of Spanish artists like Burgaz or Merello, and the symbolism of Folk Art.
